Remove posts before a date or within a date range. Dates follow your local timezone.
By words
Find posts by words, phrases, handles or hashtags. You can also use regular expressions.
By engagement
Set a limit on likes, reposts or replies. Posts above any of those limits stay.
By media
Remove posts with a photo or video, or choose only posts without media.
Keep the posts you want
Xpurge keeps your pinned post by default. You can protect other posts by keyword or ID. Protected posts stay, even if they match a deletion filter.

See what your filters would remove. A test run checks the posts and records the matches without deleting anything.
It runs in your browser
Stay signed in to X and Xpurge uses the same controls you would: open a tweet's menu, choose delete and confirm. You don't need an Xpurge account or a separate login. The extension never asks for your X password or uploads your posts to our servers.
Pauses between deletions
X can slow down accounts that delete too quickly. Xpurge spaces out deletions and stops if it detects throttling or too many failures in a row.
Save a copy
With backups on, Xpurge saves a copy on your computer before removing each post. Pro lets you download those records as JSON or a spreadsheet.
Find older posts
X only shows your most recent 3,200 posts. With Pro, you can import your X archive to reach older posts. Xpurge reads the archive on your computer without uploading it.

Questions
Can deleted posts be recovered?
No. Deleting on X is permanent. With backups on, Xpurge saves a copy of the text for your records, but it cannot restore the post on X. Try a test run before deleting.
Do I have to give you my X password?
No. Xpurge uses your existing X session in your browser and never asks for your password.
Why do I have to keep the tab on screen?
X stops loading more posts when its tab is in the background. Xpurge pauses until you bring the tab back into view. You can put X in its own window and leave it visible while the run finishes.
Can I delete posts beyond the latest 3,200?
Scrolling won't reach them. In X, go to Settings, then Your account, then Download an archive of your data. Once your archive arrives, import the ZIP into Xpurge with Pro to work through older posts.
Does the extension send my posts anywhere?
No. Your posts, filters and records stay on your computer. Apart from working on X itself, the extension only contacts Dodo Payments to check a Pro licence. That check sends your licence key and a random installation number. The free version does not make licence checks.
How many browsers can I use one key on?
One at a time. Before reinstalling or changing computers, remove the licence in the extension so you can activate it again. If you can't do that, contact us and we'll free it for you.
How do I cancel?
Whenever you like, yourself. Open the billing portal, enter the email address you subscribed with, and Dodo will email you a sign-in link. You can cancel there, and change your payment method while you are at it. You keep Pro until the period you have already paid for runs out, and you are not charged again. If anything goes wrong, write to xiao@houzi.io.
What happens to my key when the subscription ends?
It stops working, and Xpurge goes back to the free version. Nothing you have already removed is affected, and your filters, records and settings stay exactly where they are.
What if the licence check cannot connect?
Xpurge checks your key when you activate it and about once a week after that. If a check can't connect, Pro stays active for up to two weeks after the last successful check.
Does this work with Twitter, or only X?
They are the same thing. Twitter was renamed X in 2023, and twitter.com now takes you to x.com. Whether you call them tweets or posts, retweets or reposts, Xpurge removes the same things.
Can I delete all my tweets at once?
Yes, within what X lets any tool reach. Choose "Delete everything" and Xpurge works through your posts, replies, reposts and likes in turn, pausing between deletions so X does not throttle your account. A large account takes hours rather than minutes, and the tab needs to stay open. For tweets older than your most recent 3,200, import your X archive.
